Detailed Serpstat Review: What Are the Main Features That Serpstat Offers?

Though it’s not possible to talk about all the features of Serpstat in one review post, I’ll try to cover as much as I can.

In this section of my Serpstat review post, I’ll dive into the major functionality and use cases of this SEO tool. And tell you what makes it a valuable addition to the toolkit of your in-house SEO team.

Ready to learn about the tools, dashboard, functionality, and benefits of Serpstat?

Let’s get started.

1. Domain Analysis

First things first, Serpstat gives you an overview of any particular website, including its search visibility, monthly search traffic, and the number of organic and paid keywords that it is ranking for.

Here’s the Serpstat domain analysis overview for my website.

Along with your top ranking keywords, Serpstat’s domain analysis feature also allows you to see the keyword position distribution.

You can see how many of your posts are ranking in the top 10, top 50, and top 100 search results on Google.

For example:

#1 position in the Google SERPs

The graph below shows that my site is ranking on #1 position in the Google SERPs for 606 keywords and on page 1 of Google for 5,566 keywords.

This SEO tool also showcases your top-performing posts that are ranking for the maximum number of keywords.

As a website owner, getting these insights can help you understand which SEO efforts are working and which ones aren’t.

You can get an overview of your link profile from the same dashboard.

Serpstat has its own Domain Rank (SDR) index that rates your site’s domain authority from 0-100 depending on the number of sites linking to your site.

2. Competitor Research

Another great feature that makes Serpstat worth the investment is its competitor research features.

Here’s a list of my competitor websites:

Serpstat lists all important details about your competitors such as:

  • The number of common keywords you’re targeting
  • The number of keywords that your competitor is ranked for, but you’re not targeting yet
  • The overall search visibility of your competitor domains in comparison to past data

You can also compare your site against any particular competitor, one-on-one.

Serpstat's Domain vs. Domain

For this, you need to visit Serpstat’s Domain vs. Domain and select two or three of your competitors.

I really love the competitor analysis graph that clearly shows where your brand stands. It kind of motivates me to do good work and boost SEO results.

3. Keyword Research Tool

Serpstat’s keyword research tool helps you find relevant keywords from a huge keywords database.

It gives you details about the search volume, keyword difficulty, CPC, and PPC competition of each keyword.

You can also look at related keywords to get more keyword ideas for planning your site’s content calendar.

Again, Serpstat lists the search volume and keyword difficulty for all suggested keywords.

I recommend that you choose keywords with high search volume and low keyword difficulty score (KDS) to rank easily in the SERPs.

They also offer “Search suggestions” based on Google’s autocomplete.

You can get some out-of-the-box keyword ideas for your web pages and posts from here.

What I really like about this tool is that it also lists the most popular words that Google suggests. This will help you identify terms that people use to search for that topic.

Similarly, you can use their “Search questions” feature to identify questions that people are searching for.

Ensure that you answer these questions in your content and it will help you get listed in the Featured snippets on Google.

For example:

My blog post on, “how to add spaces in Instagram caption,” is listed in the Featured snippet for this keyword.

Whether you run a SaaS company or an ecommerce brand, Serpstat will make it easier for you to find the right list of related keywords, questions, and popular words for specific keywords.

But that’s not all…

This tool will also help you create content that ranks for any specific keyword.

You can see a list of the top pages that rank for a particular keyword and its variations.

All you need to do is to understand what makes those web pages rank well and replicate their SERP success for your site.

Backlink analysis is one of the most useful Serpstat features. The amount of data and insights it offers is spot on.

You’ll get everything you need to identify:

  • Your top referring domains
  • New link building opportunities
  • New and lost backlinks
  • The quality of your referring domains according to Serpstat Domain Rank (SDR)
  • Types of backlinks
  • Top-performing anchor text
  • Potentially dangerous backlinks
  • And more!

Wondering how your link profile looks?

Just perform a backlink analysis using Serpstat and there you go:

This is an opportunity to reach out to the editors of high DA sites and earn your lost or broken links back.

Sounds promising, right?

Try Serpstat’s backlink analysis tool yourself to improve your link profile efficiently.

You can also use this tool to identify bad links pointing to your website and get rid of them.

Luckily, my site had none of them.

Even if there were, they could have been removed or disavowed easily. Tracking bad links is the tough part, removing them isn’t!

5. Rank Tracker

With Serpstat’s Rank Tracker, you can monitor the changes in your SERP rankings based on your own schedule. You can set up monthly, weekly, or even daily ranking reports.

Do you want to track rankings for specific organic keywords?

Click on “Rank tracker” > “Project overview” and just fill out your project settings. You’ll need to input your domain, tracking frequency, search regions, and keywords.

6. Site Audit Tool

So, I ran Serpstat’s site audit tool on my own site and got a full report in a few minutes.

Site Audit Tool

While it took me just a few minutes, it might take you longer if you’ve got an ecommerce site with 100s of product and category pages. So, be patient! 😉

Once you’ve got the site audit report, what’s next?

Your job is to start fixing the issues that are holding your website back from ranking higher in the SERPs.

In my opinion, Serpstat’s site audit report is really cool and thorough!

The tool also categorizes SEO issues into high, medium, and low priorities. You’ll know which ones to fix first.
